Network Analysis & Reconstruction of Network for 350 users at NISIET, Hyderabad

NISIET is a large Government organization specializing in imparting sophisticated training for International delegates from across the world. Nisiet mainly constituted of 5 blocks spanning 150 systems with a single leased line spanning an area of 4 acres. The network was essentially run on a number of hubs and few switches.

As a part of reconstruction the characterstics and health of the existing network was analysed and documented. The traffic patterns were gathered based on the type of applications and the network protocols. Data sheets were generated for assessing the networks availability, performance, reliability and utilization. The network topology and the list and locations of Network Management Software (NMS) was documented.

From the information tabulated it was identified that the segments were over saturated at 87% to the recommended 40% standard. It was also observed that the response time was between 600ms to 1000ms. There were a large number of CRC errors and collisions. A whooping 90% of the traffic was broadcast and multicast traffic.

The analysis revealed a number of problems associated with the DATA-LINK. Under the prescribed parameters two Cisco switches interconnected with with ISL capable Gigabit fiber were proposed in the distribution layer. The entire network was segmented into a number of VLANs to minimise broadcast and multicast traffic. The core was proposed with a 3600/2600 router, to handle both Inter VLAN routing and gateway traffic through a 256K leased line and 4-channel ISDN as backup. Also structured network cabling was proposed through out the campus.

An analysis of the reconstructed network revealed an 95% optimization with 800% of performance increase.

Surya IT is a mid-size company with 50+ employees, poineering in software development. An office automation suite was developed to handle 5 modules.

1. Employee Attandance Manager (Maintains records of employees attandance, hours spent in office, hours spent with the systems etc. through smart cards)
2. Task Manager (Calculates performance factor (PF) of every individual employee based on the targets and tasks assigned on the guidelines of ISO standards)
3. Call Manager (Logs every call incomming / outgoing, including the time duration, billing, transfered to, support calls and Voice Mail Box)
4. Resource Manager (Monthly projections/ stastistics on income and expenditure, performance correlation, HR listings, Asset listing etc.)
5. Accounts Manager (Accounts package, automatic Trial-balance, analytical data processing etc.......)



apAuctions.com, Hyderabad

A B2B & B2C portal was developed for apAuctions. The site incorporated ASP and SQL Database. The front-end was a web-based protal. The auction products was acutioned in LOTS. Each lot consisted of 1 or more items that can be auctioned by various users. Each user must register with a credit card. The highest bidder(s) were awarded the auction at the closing time. Any defaulters was carefully automatically restricted in future auctions reducing the risk of spam.

An management tool was developed in VB to create new auctions or modify any information or correspond with the user via an integrated email application.
